About us

My connection with wood began at an early age in my father’s woodworking shop. It was there that I first learned to recognise different species of wood, understand their density and structure, and appreciate the individual grain, colour, and character hidden within every piece.

The workshop became a place of observation, learning, and discovery. Surrounded by tools, raw materials, and the rhythm of manual work, I developed respect for traditional craftsmanship and for the patience required to transform natural wood into something functional and enduring.

Working alongside skilled artisans later introduced me to the principles of furniture restoration. I learned to look beyond the visible surface—to understand construction, preserve original details, and restore an object without erasing its history. This experience shaped my approach to furniture design and reinforced the belief that high-quality pieces should be created to last, age naturally, and remain meaningful over time.

As my knowledge and experience grew, so did the idea of establishing an independent workshop: a place where craftsmanship, art, engineering, and modern technology could come together. Paul Shepil was created to turn this idea into reality.

Each project begins with the natural material itself. The grain, texture, colour variations, knots, and organic edges of the wood influence the final design, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike. Modern production methods are combined with careful hand-finishing to achieve precision while preserving the warmth and authenticity of solid wood.

Family has played an essential role throughout this journey. It provides support, inspiration, and a shared understanding of the values behind every project. The workshop is not simply a place of production; it reflects a family commitment to quality, responsibility, honest materials, and thoughtful design. Many decisions, ideas, and creative directions are shaped through this close collaboration.

Paul Shepil creates individual furniture for clients who value natural materials, distinctive design, and lasting craftsmanship. Every piece is developed with attention to proportion, function, surface, and detail, allowing it to become part of the interior while retaining its own identity.

The result is more than furniture. It is a carefully considered object that connects nature, skilled work, contemporary technology, and the personal story of the people for whom it is created.
